Learn how to export data from Praxsuite tables step by step, including how to select rows, choose columns, and download files for sharing or analysis in Excel and other tools.
Exporting data allows you to take information from a Table and download it as a file that can be shared or analyzed outside Praxsuite.
Step 1: Open the Table you want to export
Navigate to your Workspace and open the Table containing the data you want to export. The export action is always performed from inside a Table view.
Step 2: Select the rows to export (optional but important)
On the left side of each row, you will see a checkbox.
Click the checkbox next to a row to select it
Select multiple rows if you only want to export specific records
If no rows are selected, Praxsuite will export all rows in the Table by default
This gives you full control over whether you export a subset of data or the entire Table.
Step 3: Click the Export button
In the top action bar of the Table, click Export.
This opens the Export Wizard, where you define how your file will be generated .
Step 4: Choose the export format
In the Export Wizard, select the file format you want:
.xlsx for Excel
.csv for spreadsheets or integrations
.txt for plain text exports
Choose the format that best matches how the data will be used.
Step 5: Select the columns to export
You can choose exactly which columns will be included in the export.
Select individual columns
Or click All to export every column
You can also click None and manually select only a few fields
This is useful when sharing partial information or reducing file size.
Step 6: (Optional) Export as a template
You can enable Template only if you want to export:
Column headers only
No row data
This is useful for creating templates, imports, or standardized data structures.
Step 7: Confirm and export
Click Export to generate the file.
Your file will be downloaded to your device, ready to share or analyze externally.
Key things to remember
You can export all rows or only selected rows
You control file format, columns, and structure
Exporting does not affect the data inside Praxsuite
Permissions determine who is allowed to export data
